College Savings Dolls and GradSave have teamed up. Eddie from GradSave was watching the Twitter feed under hash tag #collegesavings when one of our tweets caught his eye. Eddie, a proud father of a 2 year old girl, thought our message to inspire young girls to go to college and set career goals for themselves was a great idea.

This is a triumphant story of a real-life person & weekend photographer in CO, Anna Newell Jones, who paid down her debt in 15 months. Fed-up with her debt following her around, she starting writing a personal-finance blog to keep her honest at http://andthenwesaved.com/ . Anna had accumulated $23,605.10 in debt using credit cards, taking out college loans, etc.

Over the weekend my husband & I explored the new Coinstar offerings, since we needed by buy several gift cards this year. You see, teenagers really don’t want anything that you pick out! You get an e-Certificate that you give to the recipient with a code for them to enter, they can use it in the store or on-line.

If you have ever shopped on your Florida vacation you know about the Florida based Publix grocery store. I used to shop here with my Grandma and loved their welcoming atmosphere. It is the dominant grocery store in the Deep South.

Got my latest issue of Entrepeneur magazine & voted for my three picks; an established entrepreneur, an emerging entrepreneur & lastly a college entrepreneur. Much to my disappointment, in all these categories, only one woman was represented. But what a woman & a wonderful company!

Just got finished reading the money section of my local paper & it made me think about what sort of guidance we are establishing for our children. Are we doing enough to put them on the right path when it comes to their money & saving habits? The greatest teacher’s are your own family,  & we need to help kid's learn good habits that will last a lifetime.
